Title: The Incident Which Led to Ryan's Refusal to be Interviewed by the Documentary Crew for Three Weeks
Fandom: The Office
Pairing: Dwight/Ryan
Timeline: set sometime after Gay Witch Hunt
Rating: PG
Length: A little over 400 words
Notes: For
office_romances flashfic challenge. My prompts were "bathroom" and "I've made a huge mistake"
Dwight snapped his fingers in Ryan's direction. “Temp! I need you to come with me for a minute.”
Ryan rolled his eyes. “I'm not a temp anymore Dwight. I actually work here now.”
“Yes yes, that's fine, I need to talk to you. Now. It's important.” Dwight looked around. “And secret.”
Ryan sighed and put down the expense reports he was working on and followed Dwight into the men's room.
Dwight shooed the camera guys out and Ryan started to get nervous.
“Now,” Dwight spoke quickly and quietly. “You should know that I don't particularly want to do this. But it worked on Oscar, so maybe the gaydar knows something I don't. I owe it to my girlfriend to try this. She shouldn't have to be with me if it was right.”
“Dwight?” Ryan started inching towards the door. “What are you talking about?”
Dwight squared his shoulders and faced Ryan. “No more talking, I have to do this.”
Ryan's back was against the door and he was fumbling for the handle behind him. “I think I should go.”
“No!” Dwight put his hand on the door by Ryan's head with a slap and before Ryan could get his bearings Dwight's lips were on his, wet and open.
Ryan froze.
He remained motionless as Dwight pressed his lips harder into Ryan's and started poking insistently with his tongue. He was unable to move until Dwight's tongue breached Ryan's lips and Ryan felt Dwight lick at the roof of his mouth. Ryan made a high pitched noise of distress and shoved Dwight back violently.
Dwight stood a few feet away staring at Ryan while they both caught their breath. “I've made a huge mistake,” Dwight said, touching his fingers to his lips. He shook his head and then pushed past Ryan to get out into the office.
Ryan leaned over the sink and rinsed his mouth with water for a few minutes and then he made his way back to his desk. He gathered his things, mumbled something about being sick and left. The cameramen tried to talk to him but he shooed them away.
He stopped on the way home for mouthwash and went through a half a bottle of Scope in the drugstore parking lot before he felt human enough to drive the rest of the way to his apartment.
